Thought it would be fun to have the picture of our home in NJ on here. Before we moved in, Dad and mom drove us by the house to see it for the first time. Dad was telling us how small the front yard was...trying to prepare us since the front yard we were moving from in Roosevelt, LI was big! He told us over and over that the front yard was really really tiny, and even worse than that, the back yard was even smaller than the front. We drove past the house once...all of us looking out the car window trying to think which house on the block was ours. Dad and mom were watching our reactions, then turned the car around at the end of the block and went back to show us which house was ours. We were okay with the small front yard since it was bigger than Dad had described to us, and were pleasantly surprised to find the back yard WAS bigger than the front and spent the first few minutes assuring dad that, "no! it's not TOO bad...it's okay, we can handle this yard". Then we drove back to Long Island to pack up our house.
Did a google earth search to see that the hedges are gone, and they are now building in our baseball/soccer, Frisbee, wiffleball field. Yuk! We do have our video tape of the house when we did a walk through 10 years ago or so. Very cool. The lady bought it as a handy man special.
ReplyDeleteWe bought it as a handyman fixer up ourselves.
ReplyDeletewe did have a place for everyone to have a space to sleep. Even tho' I do regret that you boys had to be in the basement. I figure that time in our life is the underlying cause of
andrew's anxiety problems.
I shouldn't say that we bought it as a fixer upper, exactly. We bought it because we could afford it and there was a place for everyone to sleep. And who can forget the 2 car garage!
