tube top

All time best gift for mother was a gag gift all the kids went in with. Dad never did understand the purpose. I had been wanting to embarrass mom at her birthday ever since mom embarrassed me at my sweet 16th birthday, where I had all my friends there too. One of my gifts was inside a paper bag from the grocery store. After feeling what was inside, I easily figured out that it was clothing. After guessing that it was a shirt or some socks, I pulled it out excited that new socks were what I needed so badly. After seeing the bag was full of white material, I held the bag over my head to brag to my friends (boys and girls) that I had new socks.
But to my horror they were not socks, but whitey-tighties. Thanks mom...Luckily no one said to try them on in the kitchen. It took less than a micro-second to go from holding the package way over my head, to buried deep back in the paper bag. I was scarred for life.
That's why all b-day packages are now in clear plastic bags.
Well it was time to give mom that...special gift. It was the all-popular TUBE TOP. Mom thought it was a sweat band and tried to put it on her head. We did tell mom how it was worn, and that she had to put it in the kitchen. Mom did so, over her clothes of course and displayed her gift...good sport mom, way to stick w/traditions and we all had a good laugh. The tube top did not go directly into the garbage, but ended up being used as a dust rag.
